In the Dewasanzan mountains, meet a Yamabushi monk to walk along weathered stone paths leading to a historic, mountaintop temple lodge. Enjoy a dinner of ‘sansai ryori’, a distinctive local cuisine that makes expert use of Yamagata’s wide variety of wild mountain vegetables.
